After a year away from the game, Hunter Renfrow is eager to return to the NFL. The former wide receiver, who did not play during the entire 2024 NFL season, has recently taken significant steps toward reviving his professional career. According to NFL Media, Renfrow has made a free-agent visit with the Carolina Panthers and is scheduled to meet with the Las Vegas Raiders, the team that drafted him.
Renfrow met with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday and is set to meet with the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday. These visits highlight his determination to find a new opportunity in the league after being released by the Raiders in March 2024. The 2019 fifth-round draft pick was instrumental in the Raiders' playoff run during the 2021 NFL season, showcasing his talent and potential.
During the 2021 season, Renfrow emerged as a vital player for the Raiders, recording 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns. His performance that year solidified his reputation as a reliable wide receiver. However, injuries plagued him throughout the 2022 season, limiting his appearances to just 10 games. Although he managed to play all 17 games in 2023, his production significantly declined, with only 25 catches for 255 yards and no touchdowns.
Following his release from Las Vegas, the Clemson product is intent on restarting his career and proving his value on the field. In total, Renfrow has played 73 career games with the Raiders, amassing 269 receptions for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns. As he navigates this critical juncture in his career, both the Panthers and the Raiders could offer him the fresh start he needs to get back to his former self.
With his sights set on a successful comeback, Hunter Renfrow is ready to showcase his skills and make a significant impact in the NFL once again.
