Get ready for it to stay that way, as Sony has announced the launch of its first series of trading cards from the highly anticipated PlayStation-themed Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair super drop. These enticing cards will be available starting from October 27th in both non-foil and rainbow foil formats, featuring elements from some of Sony's most iconic titles.
The newly revealed cards will showcase beloved franchises such as The Last of Us, God of War, and Horizon Forbidden West. While we have a glimpse of some of the cards, this is just the beginning. The complete lineup will remain a mystery until the official launch next month. In a post on the PlayStation Blog, merchandise executive Grace Chen shared that each card will include “iconic characters, key locations, and items” from these beloved video games.
This new initiative is part of Sony's broader strategy to expand the PlayStation universe beyond the confines of its gaming consoles. "We’re always looking for ways to connect our players with some of their favourite PlayStation games – that also includes playing with their favourite worlds in other ways outside of their PlayStation console,” Chen elaborated. This innovative approach aims to enhance the gaming experience and foster a deeper connection with the PlayStation community.
