The excitement surrounding Severance reached new heights during the recent live Q&A panel at PaleyFest 2025, held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. This event came just hours after the premiere of the highly anticipated season 2 finale, titled "Cold Harbor." In a surprising twist, Tramell Tillman, who plays the enigmatic floor manager Seth Milchick, took center stage by leading members of the University of Southern California marching band in a captivating performance.
Tillman's performance closely mirrored a striking scene from this week's episode, where his character orchestrates a bizarre celebration within the company's Choreography & Merriment department. In this moment, Milchick, dressed as a stylish drum major, commands the company’s band to commemorate a significant achievement in the Macrodata Refinement department. This spectacular sequence not only echoed the show's unique themes but also outdid a similar performance from the first season, where Milchick leads a Music Dance Experience in honor of Helly R., played by Britt Lower.
Britt Lower expressed her admiration for Tillman and the marching band's performance during her post-finale interview with Entertainment Weekly. She described Tillman as a genius and highlighted the surreal juxtaposition of the corporate world and the lively band. "There’s something so wonderfully surreal about that," Lower remarked, emphasizing the depth of the characters' human journeys amid such a bizarre setting. She further expressed pride in being part of the talented team behind Severance, acknowledging the dedication that the cast and crew put into crafting each intricate piece of the story.
The PaleyFest performance was a fitting capstone to the panel, which featured the rest of the Severance cast. However, when Tillman was introduced alongside his castmates, he was notably absent, prompting director Ben Stiller to joke about the actor’s tendency to go off the grid, as reported by Variety.
Exciting news for fans came swiftly after the conclusion of season 2, with the announcement of Severance's renewal for a third season. Creator Dan Erickson reassured viewers that the wait for new episodes would not be as lengthy as it was between the first two seasons. In an interview, Erickson noted, "It has always been a show that we're very careful with and meticulous about how exactly we're telling the story." He pointed out that while season 1 took a similar amount of time to produce as season 2, the audience's anticipation was different since the show's concept was still unfolding.
