Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has joyfully announced the arrival of his second child with long-term girlfriend Georgia Groome. This exciting news comes five years after the couple welcomed their first daughter, Wednesday. Grint, who is best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, was spotted enjoying a day out in Hampstead with the newborn on Sunday.
Rupert Grint took to Instagram to share the delightful news with his followers. He posted an adorable photo of the newborn wrapped in a cozy leopard-print fleece, dressed in a grey cardigan, and a white one-piece featuring her name, Goldie, elegantly written in gold lettering. In his caption, Grint humorously acknowledged how the news had already circulated before his official announcement, writing: “Secret Child Slightly Revealed. Introducing Goldie G. Grint. ⭐️ A 10/10 baby (so far).” He also gave a shoutout to their doctor, @alex.digesu, for his exceptional care.
The announcement quickly garnered a flood of congratulatory messages from fans, many of whom celebrated the arrival of “another member of the Weasley household.” Photos obtained by The Sun show Rupert and Georgia lovingly cuddling their infant daughter, who appears to have inherited her father's signature Weasley-esque red hair.
Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome have been together since 2011, maintaining a largely private relationship despite their public personas. Grint first joined Instagram in 2020 to announce the birth of their first child, Wednesday, and quickly amassed a million followers, a number that has since grown to 5.3 million. In his inaugural post, he said: “Hey Instagram….only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert.”
While the couple generally keeps their family life under wraps, Rupert recently opened up about one of Wednesday's surprising obsessions during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He shared that his firstborn child was “struggling” to adjust to life in the UK after having spent most of her time in America. Grint noted that Wednesday misses certain American comforts, including Hoagies and the popular retail chain, Target.
When asked about Wednesday’s favorite activities, he described her as “princess crazy” and shared her fondness for Target. “She likes going to different Targets and kind of seeing how the layout is slightly different,” Rupert said, eliciting laughter from the audience. He further revealed that Wednesday would often choose a trip to Target over a visit to the park, just to browse the aisles.
