Teddi Mellencamp, known for her role on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," has revealed a critical health update. On Wednesday, she announced via Instagram that she is undergoing emergency surgery after doctors discovered "multiple tumors" on her brain. This distressing news comes after weeks of enduring "severe and debilitating headaches."
In her Instagram statement, Mellencamp shared, "Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization. After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least six months." The 43-year-old reality TV star explained that she will have two of the tumors "surgically removed" immediately, while the remaining smaller tumors will be treated with radiation in the future.
Mellencamp expressed her gratitude for the immense support she has received from her "children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health." She acknowledged the outpouring of love and support with, "Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey❤️."
In a candid moment shared on her Instagram Stories, Mellencamp posted a video of a friend shaving her head with an electric razor before the surgery. Despite the circumstances, she appeared upbeat, singing, "My best look." Before this announcement, she had shared a selfie from her hospital bed, captioned, "Counting down the minutes until my babies get here." She remained optimistic, citing her father's words, "God only gives hard stuff to those of us who can handle it."
Mellencamp's announcement prompted thousands of supportive comments from fans and fellow Bravo stars. Emily Simpson from "Real Housewives of Orange County" wrote, "Praying for your health my friend 💕," while "Vanderpump Rules" alum Scheana Shay sent "so many prayers and all the love!!!" Co-star Lala Kent and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum Kenya Moore also offered their prayers and support.
This latest health challenge follows a series of medical battles for Mellencamp. Since being diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in October 2022, she has faced numerous health hurdles, including at least 16 surgeries to remove melanomas. Despite this, Mellencamp shared a moment of relief in December 2024, announcing that her three-month skin checkup showed no abnormalities for the first time.
Throughout her journey, Mellencamp has remained an advocate for health awareness, expressing her gratitude for the continued support from her doctors, family, friends, and fans. "As long as you’re here, I have a reason to keep advocating for myself and for others," she concluded.
