Universal/Amblin Entertainment's highly anticipated film, Jurassic World Rebirth, has made a remarkable debut at the international box office, earning $26 million from 38 international markets on its opening day, including preview screenings. When combined with the $30.5 million generated from the domestic market on the same day, the global total stands at an impressive $56.5 million as of Day One. The film is set to expand its reach, launching in 82 offshore markets this weekend, with Japan expected to join the lineup in August.
The international rollout began on Tuesday in Hong Kong, strategically timed to coincide with the Special Administrative Region's Establishment Day holiday. The film garnered $600,000 on its first day, marking the largest opening day for a studio film since Deadpool and Wolverine debuted, and achieving the highest opening for any MPA film this year thus far. With a commanding 44% market share, the movie clearly ranked as the top film of the day.
China proved to be a significant market for Jurassic World Rebirth, delivering a staggering $9.9 million on its opening day, the largest launch for a studio film in the region this year. The film opened on 65,000 screens, including 760 IMAX theaters, capturing a remarkable 64% market share at the top spot. Following its initial success, China reported an additional $5.6 million on Thursday, bringing the cumulative total to $15.5 million in just two days, while maintaining a dominant 50% market share at No. 1. The film's cast, including Gareth Edwards, Scarlett Johansson, Rupert Friend, and Jonathan Bailey, attended a premiere event in Shanghai, a promotional effort that has become increasingly rare since the pandemic's onset. Additionally, a dedicated section for Jurassic can be found at the Universal Beijing Resort.
In South Korea, the film opened to $1 million, achieving the biggest Wednesday debut of the year, and the second-largest non-holiday opening day of 2025, following Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17. Other notable debuts on Wednesday included the UK and Ireland, which garnered $2.7 million, representing 56% of the market share and ranking as the top film of the day. This performance is closely aligned with the opening of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, surpassing Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
In Mexico, the film debuted with $2.1 million during wide Wednesday previews, capturing a significant 67% market share. This performance exceeds that of previous blockbusters like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and aligns closely with Thor: Love and Thunder. Spain also performed well, grossing $1.6 million on its opening day, which stands as the second-best for any installment in the Jurassic World series, falling just short of the original Jurassic World opening.
Germany's opening day saw $1.1 million in earnings, capturing a 52% market share, and marking the hottest day of the year so far. This performance ranks as the biggest opening day of 2025, surpassing other films. In Italy, the film also started strong with $1.1 million, achieving a 60% market share.
