In a shocking turn of events, Dallas rapper Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the tragic shooting death of fellow rapper Mo3, also known as Melvin Noble. This incident took place on a busy interstate in Dallas back in 2020, and recent court records have brought new details to light regarding the case.
On Tuesday, a Dallas County grand jury indicted Yella Beezy on a charge of capital murder while remuneration. The indictment alleges that Conway hired a man named Kewon White to carry out the murder of Mo3. While the indictment does not specify the motives behind this alleged hiring, it raises serious concerns about the nature of these relationships within the Dallas rap scene.
Unfortunately, the court records do not currently indicate an attorney representing Conway, leaving many unanswered questions about his defense. Efforts to reach out to Conway's representatives for comment have not yielded any responses as of yet.
Following the arrest, Mo3's mother, Nichole Williams Noble, expressed her grief and desire for justice in a heartfelt Facebook post, declaring, “Justice for my baby!!!!” This emotional response highlights the impact of Mo3's death on his family and the community that supported him.
The tragic events unfolded on November 11, 2020, when Mo3 was driving on Interstate 35 in south Dallas. According to authorities, Kewon White drove alongside Mo3 and exited his vehicle brandishing a firearm. In a desperate attempt to escape, Mo3 exited his vehicle and fled south on the freeway as White opened fire. Authorities reported that both Mo3 and a bystander in a nearby car were struck by gunfire. While the bystander survived the ordeal, Mo3 tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital.
In addition to Yella Beezy, Kewon White and another individual, Devin Brown, aged 32, have also been indicted in connection with Mo3's death. As of now, their cases remain pending in the judicial system. It’s worth noting that White, who is 26 years old, was sentenced to nearly nine years in federal prison in 2022 after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in an unrelated case.
Yella Beezy gained fame for his hit singles, including “That’s On Me” released in 2017 and “Bacc At It Again” featuring Quavo and Gucci Mane in 2019. His career has been marked by both success and turmoil, including a near-fatal shooting incident in October 2018, when he was shot three times while driving in Lewisville, a suburb of Dallas.
Mo3 was not only an emerging talent in the rap scene but also had a substantial following, boasting over 800,000 followers on Instagram. He was particularly well-known for his 2019 remix of the song “Errybody”, in collaboration with Baton Rouge rapper Boosie Badazz. His untimely death has left a significant void in the music community, and the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding his case continue to draw attention.
The unfolding of this case serves as a stark reminder of the violence that can sometimes plague the music industry and the importance of seeking justice for victims of such tragedies.
