Alix Earle’s popular podcast "Hot Mess" has been officially dropped by Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network. According to sources, SiriusXM will also cease selling ads for the show. The Unwell Network has relinquished all rights to "Hot Mess", allowing Earle the freedom to explore new opportunities.
The decision to drop the podcast comes amid increasing rumors on social media about a potential feud between Alex Cooper, the host of the highly popular podcast "Call Her Daddy", and Alix Earle, a prominent influencer with a vast TikTok following. Speculation intensified when Earle did not attend an Unwell Super Bowl party in New Orleans, despite being in the area.
In August 2023, Alex Cooper announced the launch of the Unwell Network and signed Alix Earle as part of the initiative. The network aimed to connect with Gen Z audiences by offering “unique voices” that tackle social challenges and personal insecurities through open conversations.
Unwell’s initial talent lineup also included "Pretty Lonesome" host Madeline Argy. Together with Cooper and Earle, they were set to develop various multiplatform projects in areas such as pop culture, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle.
The Unwell Network is a subsidiary of Tending, the media company founded by Alex Cooper and her fiancé, Matt Kaplan of ACE Entertainment. In August 2024, Cooper secured a deal with Sirius XM, featuring Unwell Music, Cooper’s music channel, and Unwell on Air, which includes shows like “The Daily Dirty” and “The Dialed In Show.”
Despite Alix Earle’s departure, the Unwell Network boasts a robust lineup. In February, the network signed Grace O’Malley to launch her “DisGRACEful” podcast. Other notable shows include Harry Jowsey’s “Boyfriend Material” and Owen Theile’s “In Your Dreams.” Meanwhile, Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” continues to attract high-profile guests. This fall, Cooper conducted an interview with Kamala Harris during the presidential election run-up.
